5. NBA Draft
The 2024 NBA Draft is a real possibility for Jaxson Robinson. When he entered the draft, he made it very clear that he intended to do everything possible to pursue the NBA as his next destination. Robinson earned an invitation to the NBA Combine but failed to impress and reportedly struggled with the speed of the game. He was one of several upperclassmen who hoped to take advantage of a weak draft class but ultimately failed to showcase themselves at the combine. He could still stay in the draft, but it appears he is a bit of a long shot to get drafted.
1. Kentucky Wildcats
The 2023 Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year, Jaxson Robinson, declared for the 2024 NBA Draft and entered the transfer portal as his former head coach left BYU for Kentucky. Robinson averaged 14.2 points per game and made 42.6 percent of his field goal attempts during the 2023 season. Robinson is a slender 6’7” forward who is originally from Oklahoma. He began his collegiate career at Texas A&M before playing at Arkansas, and BYU. He has called Mark Pope a “mentor,” and the Kentucky Wildcats are considered the favorite to land him if he withdraws from the NBA Draft. Kentucky has rebuilt the roster under Pope and has one scholarship remaining for Robinson.

2. BYU Cougars
New head coach Kevin Young is doing his best to ensure the BYU Cougars can keep Jaxson Robinson if the current Big 12 Sixth Man of the Year pulls his name from the NBA Draft. Robinson aims to reach the NBA, and Young has spent the better part of the past two decades immersed in that world. Young has served as a coach in the NBA Development League and then became an assistant for the Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns. Young was the highest-paid assistant coach in the NBA in 2023 and has the experience and knowledge to sell Robinson on a return to BYU to be an anchor of his attack in 2024.

3. Kansas Jayhawks
The Kansas Jayhawks had been out of the market for a difference-making guard. Still, Florida transfer Riley Kugel pulled his commitment and then switched to Mississippi State, leaving a hole in the lineup for the Jayhawks. They also missed on incoming five-star freshman Liam McNeeley and are looking for more offensive firepower on the perimeter to make a run at an NCAA Championship in 2024-2025. If Jaxson Robinson is interested in returning to college and competing for a title, the best situation is likely in Lawrence. Bill Self knows how to use players like Robinson, and he saw him up close last season when Robinson starred at BYU.
Kansas 2025 NCAA Title Odds: +1000
4. Texas Longhorns
Jaxson Robinson is originally from Oklahoma, and if he wanted to return to the region he once called home, the Texas Longhorns need the perimeter. They could offer Robinson a featured role in the offense. Texas did not diligently recruit Robinson out of high school, but that was a different staff, and the transfer portal and NIL market make those potentially hurt feelings a thing of the past. Texas is headed to the SEC and would offer Robinson a chance to play in the spotlight and with the opportunity to put a lot of shots up.
