1. Georgia Bulldogs
What an interesting year it's been for the Georgia Bulldogs. The Bulldogs have dropped contests to Ole Miss and Alabama, but they also boast signature wins against Tennessee, Texas, and Clemson. Despite Georgia's starting quarterback getting injured prior to halftime, the Bulldogs rallied in the second half and picked up an SEC Championship victory. The Bulldogs enter the College Football Playoff as the second overall seed.

16. Mississippi State Bulldogs
There's reason to believe things might be turning around with Mississippi State, but Rome wasn't built in a day. Head coach Jeff Lebby says what fans want to hear, and they've at least played some competitive games to start the season. The Bulldogs played close games at Georgia and Texas A&M. Baby steps.
15. Kentucky Wildcats
The Kentucky Wildcats have been a puzzling team to understand early on this season. There have been moments of strong play, but the consistency just hasn't been there.
14. Arkansas Razorbacks
It's interesting to follow the Arkansas Razorbacks this year. They've played spoiler on multiple occasions, yet it appears the magic is slowly wearing off as the season comes to a close.
13. Auburn Tigers
No matter what you think of the Auburn Tigers as a program, with head coach Hugh Freeze in the mix, there's always going to be headlines worth following here. The Tigers stunned the Aggies in Week 13, leading to a rise in the ranks. Had they done more against Alabama, they might have jumped higher.
12. Missouri Tigers
The Missouri Tigers didn't live up to expectations at all in 2024. With such a talented roster, this was a very disappointing season for the Tigers.
11. Oklahoma Sooners
The Oklahoma Sooners didn't exactly do a great job in the SEC this season. The most memorable moment came in a dominant showing against the Crimson Tide. Still, what does it mean if Alabama still makes the CFP? Do the games matter?
10. Vanderbilt Commodores
Clark Lea's program made some nice steps forward in 2024. It's going to be important that this program makes this a building block. They can't afford to suffer a step back in 2025.
9. LSU Tigers
It's promising to see the LSU Tigers back in the mix as a top program in college football. Brian Kelly's squad will be led by quarterback Garrett Nussmeier . The Tigers knocked themselves out of the College Football Playoff picture with a loss to Florida in Week 12. Will Brian Kelly ever get it done?
8. Florida Gators
Five-star quarterback DJ Lagway looks the part of being a future star in the SEC. The Gators altered the path of many SEC teams down the stretch. Look out for this program in 2025.

7. Texas A&M Aggies
It was a crazy crowd in College Station for the Texas A&M Aggies in Week 14 against Texas. The crowd ultimately didn't matter in the end, with the Longhorns dominating the matchup from start to finish. The Aggies made a lot of progress this year, but the ending was disappointing.
6. Ole Miss Rebels
Entering the year, it would have been hard to envision Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels not making the CFP. As we stand, that's exactly what transpired. After making major changes on defense, the payoff wasn't ultimately there for the Rebels.
5. Alabama Crimson Tide
With Nick Saban retiring, a new era is upon us with the Alabama Crimson Tide under head coach Kalen DeBoer. The Crimson Tide have looked like a national title threat at times this year. Still, three losses and no conference championship appearance shouldn't have the Crimson Tide anywhere near the CFP. The Crimson Tide were ultimately left on the outside of the bracket looking in.
4. South Carolina Gamecocks
When you consider where we had the Gamecocks ranked beginning the year, this has been a majorly successful campaign. The Gamecocks have a case to be made that they can jump Alabama and Ole Miss with their current resume. Even though the committee didn't buy that, we're content landing the Gamecocks in the fourth hole to end the year.
3. Tennessee Volunteers
The Tennessee Volunteers finished the year on a strong note and are by all accounts, College Football Playoff bound. If the Volunteers offense can continue being explosive, this team can make a run. The Volunteers kick off the College Football Playoff as the visitors against Ohio State. Will the SEC prove strong and knock off one of the most talented teams in the country?
2. Texas Longhorns
Even without many signature victories, the Texas Longhorns still had a successful regular season campaign. The Longhorns qualified for the College Football Playoff and are the fifth seed. With the way the bracket lines up for the Longhorns, they have a clear path to the semi-finals. Will they take advantage of that and go on a deep run?
