5. Barrett Carter - Senior - Linebacker
The lone draft-eligible player on this list is senior linebacker Barrett Carter. A former five-star recruit from Georgia, Carter was an All-American in 2022 and an All-ACC player in 2023. The versatile linebacker can play all three downs, and he’s been productive after an up-and-down 2023 campaign. Carter has three sacks, 38 tackles, and seven tackles for loss. He’s 6’1” and 230 pounds and will probably test well at the NFL Combine and push himself into a potential late second or early third-round grade in the 2025 NFL Draft.

1. Peter Woods - Sophomore - Defensive Line
Peter Woods is a defensive lineman with the versatility and athleticism to play inside or outside in most defensive fronts. Woods is a sophomore who has not been fully healthy during the 2024 season, but he’s a space eater who checks in at 6’3” and 315 pounds. The Alabama native was a five-star prospect, and he’s looked like a future star when he’s on the field. Woods projects as an early-round pick after the 2025 season for the 2026 NFL Draft.
ACC Championship Game Odds: Clemson (+125)
2. Avieon Terrell - Sophomore - Cornerback
Clemson has a few options from the secondary, but Avieon Terrell gets the nod for his terrific coverage ability and toughness as a willing tackler. Terrell is only a sophomore but has been a starter in all seven of Clemson’s games this season and is produced in a big way. Terrell has two interceptions, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, a sack, multiple tackles for loss, and eight pass breakups. Terrell is the younger brother of All-Pro cornerback A.J. Terrell and looks capable of following in his brother’s footsteps. Terrell still has two more years of eligibility, and if he stays on this path, he’ll be a Day 1 selection.
CFB Playoff Odds: Clemson (-185)
3. T.J. Moore - Freshman - Wide Receiver
It is early, but Clemson’s T.J. Moore looks like a star. The former five-star prospect is 6’3” and 200 pounds and moves with a quick-twitch explosiveness that belies his length. Moore was not quite ready to impact the first few games but has come on recently with 16 receptions and three touchdowns, including an impressive 16.75 yards per reception. Moore has the perfect size and build for an NFL wideout, and Clemson has an excellent track record producing talented pass-catchers. Good wide receivers are a hot commodity, and Moore looks like a future first or second-round pick.
4. T.J. Parker - Sophomore - Defensive Line
The other superstar defensive line sophomore on this list is pass rusher T.J. Parker. Parker came in as a decorated recruit but in the shadow of Peter Woods. He quickly showed that he was worthy of just as much attention as his beefier linemate, producing a team-high 5.5 sacks in 2023. Parker has had no sophomore slump, as he’s already racked up five sacks this season and 12.5 tackles for loss. Pass-rush specialists with the kind of length and quickness Parker has tend to be valued and will likely find himself drafted in the second or third round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
