NFL Week 4: Predicting the 14-Team Playoff Bracket

1. Kansas City Chiefs (Bye)
The Kansas City Chiefs, who have won the Super Bowl twice in a row, are aiming for a third consecutive victory in 2024. Guided by Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City remains a formidable contender. Having played most of their postseason games on the road last year, the Chiefs are eager to secure home-field advantage this time. Posting three victories against Baltimore, Cincinnati, and Atlanta early on certainly don't hurt their case.

2. Buffalo Bills
Even if you anticipate a slight regression for the Buffalo Bills this year, it's unlikely to be severe enough to keep them out of the playoffs. The Bills are in good hands with Josh Allen, one of the NFL's elite quarterbacks, capable of leading the team based on his own strengths. Their strong coaching and talented roster should suffice to secure at least a wild-card spot in the postseason, and with Miami likely falling off, the Bills may just pounce on another division crown.

3. Houston Texans
Last season marked a breakthrough for the Houston Texans, sparked by C.J. Stroud's sensational debut. Heading into 2024, Stroud is a bona fide MVP contender, and looked the part in their first two wins of the regular season. The Texans did prove they were human in Week 3, and a difficult schedule might leave some pause.

4. Pittsburgh Steelers
Although there's still very clear concerns about the Pittsburgh Steelers offense, this defense is elite, which should help guide them to a postseason berth. With the way the AFC North is shaping up, the Steelers early success could be detrimental to them winning the division crown.

5. New York Jets (Wild Card 1)
The New York Jets are favored to win the AFC East this season, particularly with Aaron Rodgers healthy and leading the team, which raises their Super Bowl prospects. With one of the NFL's top defenses as they head into 2024, the Jets are well-positioned for a strong performance in the AFC.

6. Baltimore Ravens (Wild Card 2)
The Baltimore Ravens had shown poorly through two weeks. Week 3 saw them nearly blow a big league to Dallas, but they hung on for the victory. The Ravens will see another big test in Week 4 against Buffalo.

7. Los Angeles Chargers (Wild Card 3)
Even after suffering a Week 3 loss in Pittsburgh, the Los Angeles Chargers are a team I can get behind to claw their way into the postseason. With the way this team is built in the trenches, don't be surprised if they sneak in.

7. Cincinnati Bengals (Wild Card 2)
Despite having an 0-2 start to the regular season, the Cincinnati Bengals at least proved they can compete with the two-time Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2. With a pair of winnable games on the horizon, the Bengals should be .500 after Week 4.

1. Detroit Lions (Bye)
It won't surprise us if the NFC playoff bracket runs through Detroit this season. The Lions have a middle-of-the-road schedule, and their roster is loaded with talent, specifically on offense. If the Lions want to make noise in the regular season and get over the playoff hump to play for a Super Bowl, they'll need vast improvements from their secondary. If their young talent develops at an acceptable rate, the sky's the limit for this team. Week 1 saw the Lions live up to the hype in a playoff rematch. This team means business once again, and might just be better than last year's group.

2. Philadelphia Eagles
It would be an understatement to say it was a strange end to the 2023 season for the Philadelphia Eagles. Some sizable changes were made this offseason, and the one we envision having the most significant impact came on offense with the hiring of offensive coordinator Kellen Moore. With the weapons the Eagles boast on offense, Moore should light a fire under this group and make them a potential top 5 offense in the league. The Eagles showed up in Week 1 and highlighted some big changes on offense, which makes us even more bullish about this group as a whole. After a setback in Week 2, the Eagles responded in a big way with a victory against New Orleans.

3. San Francisco 49ers
It's not exactly hard to say that the San Francisco 49ers have the most talented roster in football. Still, after two deep playoff runs in a row, the 49ers are due for some regression in 2024, even if we like their eventual outlook. Injuries have put a damper on this team early on, but there's enough talent to still keep this team afloat.

4. New Orleans Saints
Considering we thought the NFC South would be a joke again in 2024, we've been pleasantly surprised with what we've seen out of New Orleans, Tampa Bay, and even Atlanta in Week 2. The Saints look the best of the bunch, and if they can continue to play this way on both sides of the football, look out.

5. Green Bay Packers (Wild Card 1)
There's no question about it: the Green Bay Packers are not only on the rise as a contender in the NFC but also a potential Super Bowl dark horse. Jordan Love signed a monster extension this offseason, but was injured in Week 1. With Love set to return sooner than later, it's extremely promising that the Packers have strung together a pair of wins.

6. Seattle Seahawks (Wild Card 2)
There's a lot to like about what the Seattle Seahawks are building on both sides of the football under new head coach Mike Macdonald. With a defense that should get better as the season develops, and an offense that can run the football down your throat, we like the Seahawks to sneak into January as a playoff team.

7. Minnesota Vikings (Wild Card 3)
The Minnesota Vikings look the part of a real threat in the NFC. A strong defense and an offense that can move the football are leading the charge for this surprise NFC North club.
