Ravens vs Texans Best Bet ATS: Ravens -5.5 (-110)

The Ravens and Texans are playoff-bound, but there’s still seeding to figure out as we head into this Week 17 matchup. The Ravens have a path to another AFC North Division crown, which should motivate them on Wednesday afternoon. These teams met twice last year, once early in the season and once in the playoffs. The Ravens got the better of the Texans in both matchups, winning by 16 and 24 points, respectively. On paper, the Ravens have shown they have a recipe that gives Houston trouble. The Ravens beat a good Steelers team by 17 points last week. With the Texans and Ravens heading in different directions lately, we’ll lay the points with a more dominant Ravens team on Christmas Day.

Ravens vs Texans Best Bet Total: UNDER 46.5 (-105)

Although it’s a small sample size of just two games, we have some data on these teams colliding last year. Both games fell under the number, and I suspect that could be on tap again with a total set at 46.5. Last year, the Texans and Ravens tallied 44 and 34 points in their matchups. Both teams can pressure the quarterback, which should help limit the scoring. C.J. Stroud has all the tools of a franchise quarterback, but he hasn’t been as dynamic this year, factoring in a sometimes suspect offensive line. With some real injury concerns in the Texans’ wide receiver room, I think it will be difficult for Houston to move the football in an area that Baltimore has struggled in this year. I like the under in this matchup to continue with the recent trends we’ve seen.
