Mexico +150
USA +200
Canada +500
Panama +800
Saudi Arabia +1400
Costa Rica +1600
Honduras +2500
Guatemala +5000QF1: Panama vs. Honduras
First and foremost, we must give Honduras a lot of credit for advancing to the knockout stage. Nobody was giving the team a chance to do so after a humiliating 6-0 defeat to Canada in their opening fixture of group play, and they took all six points to close out second place in Group B. Unfortunately, the road ends here against a Panama side that is up-and-coming in CONCACAF, eager to book their second consecutive appearance in the Gold Cup semifinal.
QF2: Mexico vs. Saudi Arabia
We're going with an upset here. Mexico had a lackluster performance in the group stage for their standards, narrowly beating the Dominican Republic and settling for a scoreless draw with Costa Rica as well. Saudi Arabia looked comfortable in their tournament debut, more specifically in their 1-0 defeat to the United States, despite a goal that appeared offside. You can get a juicy +700 price on the Saudis within the 90 minutes, but we'll back them to make it through on penalties.
QF3: Canada vs. Guatemala
This one feels tempting as well, with the Canadians leaving a lot to be desired in the group stage, but there just isn't enough to inspire backing this Guatemalan side. Currently outside of the top 100 in the FIFA World Rankings, they would be hefty underdogs against Canada in this hypothetical match. While we aren't particularly high on Canada, we'll back them to advance out of the quarters here.
QF4: USA vs. Costa Rica
Despite having no actual household names other than 38-year-old former Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas, Costa Rica is a feisty group and one that the United States cannot take lightly. They nearly outperformed Mexico in the group stage, falling one goal in differential short of topping the group. While they will give the United States a tightly contested match, the USA marches on with a pivotal late goal to steal the match.
SF1: USA vs. Canada
With a squad far from full strength, the USMNT has looked vulnerable at times. There are questions at goalkeeper after Matt Freese's blunder against Haiti, and the attack was far from direct in the 1-0 win over Saudi Arabia. The hungry Canadians and American manager Jesse Marsch find a way in extra time to advance to their first Gold Cup Final since improbably winning the competition back in 2000.
SF2: Mexico vs. Panama
We've got another upset on the other side of the bracket here! We have recently mentioned Mexico's struggles, and Panama is a team that often feels undervalued here. They have been knocking on the door of a Gold Cup final for years now, and we see this as their best chance to reach one with the pair of powers in the U.S. and Mexico looking more vulnerable than usual. Back Panama to pull off the upset here.
Final: Canada vs. Panama
We set the stage for an unexpected final, just the second time in the tournament's history that neither the United States nor Mexico is involved. It simply feels like a golden opportunity for these two "second-tier" nations in CONCACAF to knock off a pair of lesser squads from the top powers in the confederation this time around in the Gold Cup. In a thrilling match, the Panamanians deliver their best performance in the nation's history and claim their first continental trophy.
