Colorado Rockies vs. New York Mets Spread, Line, Odds, Predictions, Picks and Betting Preview

Rockies @ Mets – First Pitch: 7:10 p.m.

Expected Forecast: Broken Clouds, 55°

Mets Desperate for a Win

The Mets are itching for a bounce-back, and boy, do they need it! They’re coming in as -234 favorites, but their lineup has been struggling lately across three straight losses. In this matchup, we’ve got a pitcher making his debut this year, Antonio Senzatela, against the Mets’ floundering lineup.

Senga vs. Rockies’ Bats

Focusing on the Rockies’ hitters, they’re facing off against pitcher Kodai Senga, who sports a 4.83 XFIP. He’s got a decent K rate at 25%, but the real story lies in the breakdown against righties and lefties. As a right-handed pitcher, Senga has dominated right-handed batters, with a .290 weighted on-base percentage.

Lefties: The Rockies’ Achilles’ Heel

The problem for the Rockies is that their lineup is seriously lacking lefties. Charlie Blackmon, Jurickson Profar, and Ryan McMahon are the only three batters expected to hit from the left-hand side, which includes switch hitters. This lack of left-handed batters might be their downfall against Senga, who’s shown exceptional skill against right-handed batters.

Will Sega Cruise Through?

With the way things are shaping up, Senga just might have an easy cruise through this game, thanks to his dominance over right-handed batters. The Rockies will have to dig deep if they want to overcome the Mets’ struggling lineup and find a way to hit against Senga’s strengths.
