MLB AL Odds Power Rankings: Rangers Rise, Blue Jays Falling

The Houston Astros remain the odds-on favorite to win the American League Pennant, while the Baltimore Orioles have remained hot in the middle of September.

SportsGrid has your updated MLB odds. Below are the favorites to win the AL.

Stay ahead of the game and elevate your sports betting experience with SportsGrid and our daily MLB game picks.

1. Houston Astros +230 (Last week: +220)

The Houston Astros have won six of their last ten games and are holding down the fort as the division leaders in the AL West. Surprisingly, the Astros have been better on the road than at home and are the second-best away team in the American League at 45-27. That could benefit them in the postseason, especially if they collide with the eventual AL East winner. The Astros’ odds of winning the AL have dropped minimally from +220 to +230.

2. Baltimore Orioles +350 (Last week: +340)

Even after losing their last two games to the St. Louis Cardinals, the Baltimore Orioles have won seven of their last ten games and continue to sit in the top spot in the AL East, heading into a critical series with the Tampa Bay Rays. The Orioles have consistently been one of the best offenses in the big leagues, and their pitching has been solid. The O’s odds of winning the Pennant have taken a slight dip from +340 to +350 over the last week.

3. Tampa Bay Rays +550 (Last week: +480)

With the Orioles dropping their last two games and the Tampa Bay Rays winning seven of their previous ten, Tampa finds themselves just two games behind the O’s for the top spot in the AL East. A four-game weekend series against the division leaders kicks off tonight and could very well decide how the division plays out during the season’s final weeks. The Rays have seen their odds of winning the AL slightly dip over the last week from +480 to +550.

4. (Tie) Seattle Mariners  +650 (Last week: +600)

Two straight victories for the Seattle Mariners have helped the club get back on track, but they’ve still been struggling in September and have posted a 4-6 record over their last ten games. The Mariners occupy the final wild-card spot in the American League and also trail the Astros by just 1.5 games in the AL West. With their less-than-stellar play in September, the M’s have seen their American League odds drop from +600 to +650.

4. (Tie) Texas Rangers +650 (Last week: +900)

With three victories to kick off their series with the Toronto Blue Jays and five in a row, the Texas Rangers find themselves back in a playoff spot in the American League. It hasn’t all been good news for the Rangers, with trade deadline acquisition Max Scherzer expected to miss the rest of the regular season and postseason. Even with that, the Rangers have seen their odds of winning the AL bet down from +900 to +650.

6. Minnesota Twins +950 (Last week: +950)

The Minnesota Twins have all but locked up the AL Central with a 7.5-game lead over the Cleveland Guardians. The Twins haven’t been playing inspiring baseball of late and own a 5-5 record over their last ten games. Still, Minnesota boasts one of the top pitching staffs in the American League, and they haven’t seen a change in their +950 odds from last week.

7. Toronto Blue Jays +1000 (Last week: +1000)

After dropping the first three games in their four-game set with the Texas Rangers, the Toronto Blue Jays find themselves on the outside of the American League playoff picture looking in. The Blue Jays trail the Seattle Mariners by one game and the Rangers by 1.5 games in the wild-card chase. Even with their recent skid, the Blue Jays’ odds of winning the American League remain unchanged at +1000
