Who’s to Blame for the Buffalo Bills Playoff Failures?

Does Allen Deserve Any Blame?
Blame going to the quarterback comes naturally when your team hasn't been able to get over the hump in the playoffs, but we're not so certain Josh Allen deserves that with the Buffalo Bills. What more did you want Allen to do in the Divisional Round against the Kansas City Chiefs? He was let down by poor play calling in the second half and still managed to post big numbers. Allen threw for 186 yards and a touchdown while adding 72 yards and a pair of scores on the ground. This was exactly the performance the Bills needed from Allen, and they still couldn't get the job done.
The Blame Game
The Buffalo Bills had another early exit in the postseason. Who's to blame for their playoff failures? SportsGrid dives into where some of the blame should go.
Sean McDermott's Poor In-Game Adjustments
Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott is going to get a lot of flack for the team's continued lack of playoff success. In his seven seasons as the Bills head coach, McDermott has posted a lackluster 5-6 record in the postseason. Over that span, the Bills have reached the AFC Championship Game just once. When you have a quarterback like Josh Allen and talent littered all over this football team, you have to shoulder some of the blame.
Injuries on Defense
It's not fair to use injuries as an excuse when every team is beat up at this time of year. In saying that, the Bills have been torn to shreds on defense with injuries this season, and you have to wonder if players such as Matt Milano would have been able to make one more play and change the outcome in the Divisional Round. The Bills always look like they're one big play away from pulling through, and they just haven't been able to get it.
Stefon Diggs Lack of Production
Yes, the game plan changed down the stretch with Joe Brady brought in as offensive coordinator, but that doesn't excuse the overall lack of production from Stefon Diggs. Diggs dropped a beautiful dime from Josh Allen against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round, which would have almost assuredly changed the trajectory of the contest. Diggs needs to be much better if the Bills want to take that next step in the postseason, and he simply hasn't been to this point.
