Guardians vs Yankees on TBS Same Game Parlay Picks Today

The New York Yankees return to Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night looking to build momentum after salvaging the finale of a tough West Coast series in Los Angeles. With Carlos Rodon on the mound and Jazz Chisholm rejoining the lineup, New York has the edge both on the hill and at the plate as they open a home set against the Cleveland Guardians. Cleveland has struggled against left-handed pitching this year, and Rodon dominated them back in April. Combine that with Aaron Judge’s ridiculous numbers and recent tear at the plate, and we’re targeting a three-leg Same Game Parlay that leans into New York’s biggest advantages.

Leg 1: Yankees Moneyline (-200)

The Yankees come into this one following a three-game set at Chavez Ravine, where they avoided the Los Angeles Dodgers’ three-game sweep with a victory on Sunday Night Baseball. After getting demolished 18-2 on Saturday, the offense got going a bit in the series finale with 11 hits, including four from DJ LeMahieu, to score seven. After hitting .254 over their past 10, the Yankees should get an offensive spark on Tuesday night as Jazz Chisholm will return to the lineup after missing almost five weeks with an oblique issue. Chisholm brings power and base stealing and can play multiple positions, giving Aaron Boone more flexibility with the lineup.

On the mound, Carlos Rodon has given the Yankees everything they could have hoped for, looking the best he has been in his third season in pinstripes. Rodon hasn’t lost since April 13, a stretch where he’s picked up six wins and has gone at least five innings in every start this season. The lefty hasn’t allowed an earned run in 14 innings and ranks ninth in the American League with a 2.60 ERA.

The only other series with the Guardians this year was in Cleveland in late April, where Rodon spun seven innings, allowing just four hits and no earned runs. Rodon struck out eight to pick up New York’s only win of the three-game set. Cleveland has the ninth-lowest batting average in the bigs against lefties this year, at .223.

Expect Rodon to go deep in this one and keep Cleveland’s bats guessing to pick up the W.

Leg 2: Aaron Judge 2+ Bases (-135)

Aaron Judge has seen his fair share of success against Guardians starter Tanner Bibee. MLB’s leader in batting average (.391) and hits (86) has faced Bibee seven times in his career and come up with three hits, including one double.

On the season, Judge is on a mission to rewrite the record books and is a serious contender for the triple crown, sitting second in the AL in homers (21) and RBI (50). The two-time American League MVP is in the 99th percentile in barrel rate (23.8%), 99th percentile with a 95.6 mph exit velocity, and 100th percentile with a .734 xSLG.

Judge has hit safely in seven of his past nine games, launching five home runs over that span. He’s also reached our prop number in five of his past eight.

Back home, where he sports an MLB-leading 1.230 OPS, following a nine-game road trip, I expect Judge to mash against a pitcher he’s hit well against in his future Hall of Fame career.

Leg 3: Tanner Bibee Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-150)

Yes, the Yankees are ninth in the bigs with 512 strikeouts on the season as a team. Yes, Bibee pitched well against New York in Cleveland back in late April, picking up a 3-2 win after going six innings. However, the Guardians hurler struck out five in that game and has a propensity to put runners on base. Bibee walked three in their previous meeting and has issued three or more walks in four of his past nine starts. Allowing too many base runners is a recipe for getting an early hook, and Bibee has failed to get past the sixth inning nine times this year.

Outside of his past two starts, where he’s racked up 15 Ks, Bibee never exceeded this number all year. In addition to some limited innings starts, the former Cal State product doesn’t have great swing-and-miss stuff. He ranks in the 26th percentile with a 21.9% whiff rate to go along with a 20.5% chase rate that puts him in the bottom two percent of Major League pitchers this season.

Don’t forget the Yankees chased Bibee after just 1.1 innings in Game 2 of last year’s ALCS at Yankee Stadium. While I don’t expect that short of a hook tonight, New York getting to the 26-year-old early would not be a surprise. Bibee getting six strikeouts for the first time against the Yanks would be the surprise.
