Jazz Chisholm Jr. Trade Fits
One of the most intriguing names to follow as the July 30 trade deadline approaches is Miami Marlins IF/OF Jazz Chisholm Jr.
Despite not blossoming into the superstar once anticipated, Chisholm, still only 26 years old, may find new vigor in a pennant race, especially in a major media market.
There is no certainty that Chisholm will be traded, however.
While Marlins president of baseball operations Peter Bendix appears to be dismantling the current roster, there's no urgency to trade Chisholm, who cannot become a free agent until after the 2026 season, unless a sufficiently attractive offer is received.
The market for Chisholm remains ambiguous.
Various teams may see him as a center fielder, his main role with the Marlins since early 2022, while others might prefer him at his original second base position. Some might find him most valuable as a versatile player who can switch between infield and outfield positions.
Another factor is Chisholm's vibrant personality. Far from being a drawback, his flair could enrich the sport; however, teams must consider how he would integrate with squads that are likely performing well if they are considering acquisitions.
With this context, here are five potential destinations for Chisholm should he be moved before the deadline.
