MLB Betting Guide for May 10: Atlanta Needs to Become Buyers

All 30 MLB teams are in action, so let’s review some of the games tonight and give a brief overview of the majors heading into the weekend.

To start, we have to look at the top of the NL standings, as it’s been wild. The Philadelphia Phillies are out in front as they dominate in all facets, and after a few bumps, the Los Angeles Dodgers are sitting on a seven-game win streak as they’re right on the Phillies’ tails. Thus far, neither team has anything else to prove. Still, the Atlanta Braves aren’t the regular season juggernaut like they’ve been in recent seasons, especially after recently getting swept for the Dodgers. The Braves have all the pieces offensively, but on the mound, they need some added depth amidst Spencer Strider’s absence and Chris Sale’s injury history. The Phillies are creating separation in the NL East, so the Braves must buy up some arms quickly before the Phils’ lead becomes too much to overcome.

This weekend, the Phillies will face the Miami Marlins, the Dodgers will have a fun series against the San Diego Padres, and the Braves will have the New York Mets on deck.

In the AL, it’s just been the Baltimore Orioles, New York Yankees, and everybody else. We need to show some love to the Kansas City Royals and Cleveland Guardians, though, as both teams have been unexpectedly stacking up consistent wins, but it’s hard to believe in either team to take home the AL pennant. On the other hand, the Texas Rangers are picking up steam while the Minnesota Twins are on a dominant run right now, winning 15 of their last 17. It feels like a lot can change in the AL, but for this weekend, none of the AL contenders should have a difficult time winning their series.
