MLB Betting Guide for May 22: Braves A Tough Price to Back

All 30 MLB teams are in action today, so let’s dive into everything you need to know for the day ahead.

Kicking off the day, tonight is a mini-doubleheader in St. Louis. The Baltimore Orioles and St. Louis Cardinals need to resume their game from last night, which was suspended due to rain. Action will pick up in the middle of the 6th inning, tied 1-1, before the two teams pick up with their regularly scheduled game later in the afternoon.

Additionally, in the early window, the Houston Astros will hope to continue to accumulate wins and regain footing in the AL West as they host the Los Angeles Angels. At the same time, the Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals will square off, with AL Cy Young hopeful Tarik Skubal taking the mound.

Later, the Philadelphia Phillies will look to build on their MLB-leading 35th win from last night against the Texas Rangers once again, and the New York Yankees will aim to get back in the win column against the Seattle Mariners after dropping the first two games of the series. 

Lastly, the Atlanta Braves remain in Wrigley Field to face the Chicago Cubs after another ugly loss last night. The Braves have now lost five of their last six, and with the Phillies leading them by six games in the NL East, the idea of a rebound is starting to feel less and less likely. The Braves boast the offensive talent necessary to overcome, and it’s a long season, but the vibes aren’t the same as in past years. The Braves are still priced second behind the Los Angeles Dodgers to claim the NL pennant, but it’s hard to back that price with the current product.
