5 Reasons Why the Milwaukee Bucks Shouldn’t Blow it Up

Tinkering Around Edges Allows Bucks to Stay Contenders
The Bucks dealt with injuries and inconsistencies this season, especially after they brought in Doc Rivers. With Giannis and Lillard leading the charge, it's difficult to envision a world where the Bucks don't try and run it back with their star duo. There might be some changes around the edges, or even a Middleton move to try and address holes on their roster, but they still have the makings of a team that can challenge the Celtics and Knicks when healthy. You never want to flush a prime season of Giannis down the toilet, but injuries in sports are unpredictable, which was exactly the case for this version of the Bucks.

Giannis is Still an MVP Candidate
Without getting to see Giannis Antetokounmpo appear in Round 1 against the Indiana Pacers, it's hard to draw difficult conclusions for the future of this team. Giannis is such a unique player in the NBA, and that's not going to change overnight. The Bucks big man was once again in the running for the MVP this season, and as long as that's a real possibility in Milwaukee, it's difficult to see a lot of changes coming to their roster in terms of a potential major overhaul.
Dame Time Still Exists in the Playoffs
Although he was only able to suit up for four of the six games in Round 1 against the Pacers, if you weren't impressed with Damian Lillard, you weren't watching him close enough. Lillard averaged 31.3 points per game over four games in this series and played exactly like the player the Bucks wanted him to be in the postseason. Lillard and Giannis compliment each other well on the floor, and it'll be interesting to see how the Bucks manage their star duo moving forward.
Middleton is a Great Third Option
There are certainly other ways the Bucks can approach the third member of their star-studded trio, but it's difficult to not appreciate what Khris Middleton brings to the table. Middleton averaged 24.7 points per game in six contests during Round 1, highlighting his ability to be a solid contributor. Middleton is a free agent after next season, which could make him an interesting trade chip for this management team, assuming they want to try and mix up this core and add a potential missing element.

Doc Rivers Won't Survive Long
It was a puzzling decision for Milwaukee to hire Doc Rivers in-season, and it's becomes more puzzling decision after their Round 1 exit against Indiana. We're not here to make this a Rivers hate post, but there were plenty of better options available if the Bucks really felt they had to make a coaching change to get the most out of their group. Doc has won a championship with the Celtics, but many believe that was done more in spite of his coaching, than his contributions. It's hard to envision Rivers sticking around long-term with the Bucks, which is a positive for this group.
