Grizzlies vs Heat Thursday Prediction | NBA Picks Today, Best Bets

John Canady

Host · Writer

The Memphis Grizzlies head to South Beach on Thursday night for a showdown with the Miami Heat. Memphis heads into this matchup looking to snap its four-game losing streak as it continues to navigate life after Taylor Jenkins, who was recently fired. Meanwhile, the Heat enter this matchup on a six-game winning streak and fresh off a massive win over the Boston Celtics on the road Wednesday night as they keep their slim playoff hopes alive. Expect a dogfight between two teams who desperately need a win for their own reasons.

Grizzlies vs Heat Best Bet: Heat ML +164

The Grizzlies are currently at the point of struggles that the Heat were in this time last month. Memphis can’t seem to get out of its own way, and while it’s shown they can keep games close, down the stretch, everything seems to go south. On the flip side, Erik Spoelstra has adjusted to his new-look roster and found a winning formula to prevent the team’s season from going down a dead-end road. Considering how well Miami has been playing, mixed with the fact they have home court advantage, I like the chances the Heat take care of business at home.

Grizzlies vs Heat Best Total Bet: Over 224

Memphis has shown its ability to be a top offensive team in the league all season long, ranking No. 2 in points per game, averaging 122 points per matchup. Although the Heat rank towards the bottom of the league in this stat, the average doesn’t justify how well Miami has been playing offensively over their recent stretch. The Heat haven’t scored fewer than 110+ points in their last six games. Assuming both teams put together a well-rounded performance on Thursday, a final score of 121-115 seems realistic.

Grizzlies Best Player Bet: Ja Morant 25+ Points +100

Ja Morant has done his part for the Grizzlies as of late, doing everything he can offensively to keep Memphis in each game. The guard is averaging 22.7 points, 7.4 assists, and 4.2 rebounds on the season, but he’s turned up the heat over the Grizzlies’ last eight games. Considering Morant has scored 25+ points in seven of the team’s previous eight games, I like the odds he stays aggressive on Thursday.

Heat Best Player Bet: Tyler Herro 4+ Threes Made +120

Tyler Herro has put together a career-year this season, averaging 23.7 points, 5.6 assists, and 5.2 rebounds, while shooting an efficient 46.8% from the field and 37.1% from three. The first-time All-Star has been the driving force for Miami all year, but over their recent winning streak, he’s looked the part of a No. 1 option in Spoelstra’s offense. With 4+ threes in three of the team’s last five games, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Kentucky product put together another big shooting night.
