6 Things We Learned About the AFC North in Week 9

Mike Gesicki Shines

We knew an uptick in targets was coming from Mike Gesicki in Week 9, but maybe not to this extent. Gesicki found himself centered in a big offensive role for the Bengals on Sunday, finishing with five receptions for 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns. It would be unwise to get used to this type of elite production, but it's nice to know that he can have some spike weeks for this offense.

Zay Deserves More Flowers

Through Week 9, I don't think that Zay Flowers is getting the recognition he deserves a top wideout in the NFL. With the success that the Ravens have running the football in tight, the touchdown numbers aren't likely to jump off the page for Flowers. Still, the production has very much been there for Flowers, and he found the endzone twice on Sunday. This season, Flowers has registered 46 receptions for 654 yards and three touchdowns.

Jameis Winston Comes Back to Earth

After helping pull off a big upset in Week 8 over the Ravens, Jameis Winston saw the clock strike midnight in Week 9 and turned back into pumpkin. Winston turned the ball over three times in the losing effort for the Cleveland Browns, which was a big reason this game didn't stay all that close. Let's see how he bounces back after a humbling performance.

Myles Garrett Has Another Big Day

If it weren't for Myles Garrett on Sunday afternoon, the Browns might have found a way to have lost by 30 or more. Garrett showcased his elite skillset on defense, but it still wasn't enough to keep this game all that close. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year tallied three sacks and four tackles in the losing effort.

Joe Burrow Strikes Back

After a week where very little went right for Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals offense, everything came together in Week 9. Burrow got back to his usually productive ways, throwing for 251 yards and five touchdowns. The Bengals dug themselves an early hole, but Burrow and company certainly have the talent to get back in the mix in the AFC.
