The New England Patriots could be another team that could look to capitalize on the rookie contract of their quarterback and make aggressive moves to improve their team. With the team's success largely depending former No. 3 overall pick Drake Maye, it would be wise for general manager Eliot Wolf to make every move possible to give new head coach Mike Vrabel a roster he can compete with. Considering the current state of the wide receiver room, a move for McLaurin should very much be on the table.

1) San Francisco 49ers

The close ties between the San Francisco 49ers and Commanders general manager Adam Peters is clear running back to his days learning under John Lynch. After agreeing to a deal already this offseason, landing star wide receiver Deebo Samuel in Washington, it wouldn't be a shock to see the two sides reconvene on another trade that would be beneficial to both sides. Brandon Aiyuk has long been rumored to be a target to pair alongside his former Arizona State teammate Jayden Daniels, and with each side seemingly going through troubles with their respective wideouts, a swap could potentially be in play.

2) Indianapolis Colts

McLaurin was born in Indianapolis,  and before he was drafted by Washington in the NFL Draft, the former Buckeye star made it clear that he's always dreamed of playing for the Indianapolis Colts. While that's yet to happen, that could change this offseason if he is made available for trade. Shane Steichen and the Indy offense have desperately been searching for a clear WR1 since the T.Y. Hilton days, and in a pivotal season for both Steichen and Chris Ballard, they could be determined to do whatever it takes to surround their team with talent in areas that need improvement. Could they make a move in the midst of an ongoing quarterback battle? Who knows. However, if they're serious about giving themselves the best chance to win now, they may need to take the aggressive approach with their jobs on the line.

3) Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers are another team that could greatly benefit from making an addition to the wide receiver room. After parting ways with Keenan Allen, Jim Harbaugh has put a lot on the plate of Ladd McConkey. While he impressed during his rookie season,  McConkey was arguably the lone dependable pass catcher for Justin Herbert. The Chargers missed out on DK Metcalf, who was dealt earlier this offseason, and they could avoid making the same mistake twice if McLaurin becomes available.

4) Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders avoided hitting the reset button this offseason, but instead opted to completely retool. With a new quarterback under center in Geno Smith, and an incoming heisman snub in Ashton Jeanty in the backfield, this offense of Pete Carroll's squad could truly be dangerous if they could find a way to bring in a premier wideout. Not only does McLaurin fit the bill, but he could be the exact veteran receiver that fits the team's window and can mentor the young group of wideouts in the room.
