1) Victor Osimhen
It has been reported that Victor Osimhen has officially informed Napoli of his desire to leave the club. Still, they won’t let him go cheaply. The Nigerian striker has been an emerging star in Naples, helping them win a league title as the top scorer in Serie A. He’s been linked to PSG, Arsenal, and Chelsea, with all three clubs needing a goal-scoring star to take them to the next level. PSG, in particular, needs a superstar after losing Kylian Mbappe this summer.
10) Romelu Lukaku
Romelu Lukaku is still a Chelsea player despite his and the club's differences. Lukaku performed admirably at the Euros, but some tight offsides cost him and Belgium a handful of goals. The club that makes the most sense and who is pursuing him the hardest is Napoli. A move to Naples would reunite him with his former manager Antonio Conte, who he has played some of his best soccer under. Despite his and Conte’s desire for a reunion, there is talk that Aston Villa may trigger his release clause to gain squad depth as they return to the Champions League.
9) Raheem Sterling
Raheem Sterling could be on the move. Despite a chaotic situation at the London club, he has performed admirably for Chelsea. The Blues have a bloated first-team squad and will need to shift players around, meaning Sterling may be a casualty. Juventus is high on Sterling and will pursue him if he is officially available. Still, there will be competition for his signature as plenty of Premier League teams have also been linked to the winger. Sterling is eager to prove himself and regain his spot on the national team, so a move may be just what he needs.
8) Mats Hummels
Mats Hummels had a season to remember, captaining Borussia Dortmund to the Champions League final. His age means this will most likely be the last move of his career. The 35-year-old doesn’t fit into Dortmund's plans moving forward, with Premier League teams circling, the most prominent being Brighton Hove-Albion and West Ham. He has also been linked to Serie A and La Liga. As a free agent, he can choose where he plays next season.
7) Joao Felix
Joao Felix has not yet found his home since leaving Benfica for Atletico Madrid for 113 million pounds. It never worked at Atletico; he and manager Diego Simeone seemed to butt heads frequently, and Felix was unable to adapt his style of playing. He was loaned out to Chelsea and Barcelona and played pretty well. The problem is Barcelona does not have the money to trigger his release clause. The Blues seem keen on a reunion, and Aston Villa have also tried to bring Felix in. He does not want to play for Atletico, so he will surely move. The question is where.
6) Federico Chiesa
Federico Chiesa seemed primed to take the soccer world by storm following the 2020 Euros. He won a couple of man-of-the-match awards and made the team of the tournament. However, injuries have held him back, and following his move from Fiorentina to Juventus, he hasn’t hit the levels many expected. Chiesa may need a change of scenery. The talent still exists, and it's no surprise teams like Inter Milan, Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool, and AC Milan have all been linked. A move may be just what he needs to breathe life into his career again, as both he, Juve, and their fans may be ready to move on.
5) Marc Guehi
Marc Guehi was crucial to England's run to the Euros final. Earning many plaudits for his performance, Guehi, described as calm and collected, anchored an England defense that was a question mark coming into the tournament. He has superstar quality, and for that reason, Crystal Palace is not letting him go easy. None of the bids that have come in so far have been good enough to pry him away, with Manchester United and Newcastle making multiple attempts to sign the young defender. United boss Erik Ten Hag is remaking the Manchester defense and rates Guehi highly. If Guehi makes a move, it will be the first step in building his legacy as a world-class defender.
4) Ivan Toney
Ivan Toney has been a problem. After serving an eight-month ban for violating betting rules, the Brentford striker tried to force his way out. Arsenal was seen as the best fit, as the Gunners have lacked an elite goal scorer for the last few seasons. The move never materialized, leaving the 28-year-old in limbo. The Bees do not want to move him cheaply. They are holding firm in their evaluation, refusing to dip below the 60 million pounds they’ve set. With one year left on his contract and a refusal to renew, Toney can force their hand. Chelsea, Man U, and Saudi club Al-Ahli have all shown interest. If Toney does move, it will be his opportunity to show that his goal-scoring form is not a flash in the pan.
3) Jonathan David
Jonathan David and Canada had an impressive debut at the Copa America, reaching the semifinals in their first appearance. David has been impressing at Lille, finishing as the second top scorer in Ligue 1 with 19 goals. He has been continuously linked to a big move, with many feeling his nose for the goal at the number nine position could translate to the highest levels. Spurs, Chelsea, West Ham, and Manchester United have all been linked, as well as clubs in Serie A, Including Inter Milan and AC Milan. David and his goals could significantly affect the coming title races.
2) Nico Williams
Nico Williams is one of the most exciting Euros stars. For fans of Athletic Bilbao, this is old news. He has formed a great partnership with his brother in the Basque country. Williams provided five goals and eleven assists in a campaign that ended with a Copa del Rey trophy, their first since the 1983-84 season. An exciting, dynamic winger, he is a game-changer whenever he’s on the pitch. Arsenal and PSG have been linked, but the team pushing for him the most is Barcelona. The Catalans are in a money crunch but hope to strike a deal and lure him to the Camp Nou. If they can manage that, it will make them a formidable team.
