Honorable Mention: Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Hot Take. I'd have Notre Dame's helmet sixth, behind UNC. The Irish at sixth? While it's sacrilege to have their iconic "gold flake" helmet in the middle of the pack, the top five in the ACC are just better.

2. Clemson Tigers

A bold orange helmet with a white tiger paw logo, Clemson's helmet is simple but striking. Add a few purple accents and it is near perfection.

3. Pittsburgh Panthers

Pittsburgh switching from a navy and dark gold scheme to their traditional yellow and royal blue scheme is a huge win. The script "Pitt" logo with the bold yellow helmet is a great look.

4. North Carolina State

Red and black is a winning combination and the North Carolina State Wolfpack embrace it. The logo is unique and large and NC State is near the front of the pack on this list.

5. North Carolina Tar Heels

The Tar Heels helmet features their beautiful shade of "Carolina Blue" with white and the iconic UNC logo. Bonus points for the argyle striping.

6. Louisville Cardinals

Louisville has two helmets this season but the primary is this white one with a sharp metallic Cardinals logo. 

7. Miami Hurricanes

The U checks in at number seven. White is a common color of helmet in the conference and the orange and green logo with no sighting of Sebastian the Ibis leaves them squarely in the middle.

8. Syracuse Organge

The "S" logo is boring but the bold orange is wonderful and looks great with the dark blue. 

9. Virginia Cavaliers

Dark blue is a common color but Virginia is the only ACC school using it as the primary color on their helmet. This is a clean and simple look with the orange accents.

10. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

The Yellow Jackets have a white helmet with navy and gold striping plus the offset "GT" initials in metallic gold. 

11. Duke Blue Devils

Again, it's a bit disappointing that the Blue Devil logo is nowhere to be found on the helmet but the white with a metallic "D" and a cool bumper font puts Duke at 11.

12. Wake Forest Demon Deacons

The Demon Deacons have a cool and unique logo featuring their mascot. The helmet does not showcase that. Instead, Wake Forest goes with a matte black helmet with the letter logo. 

13. Virginia Tech Hokies

The Hokies have a white helmet with striping and the "VT" logo. The deep maroon and orange are unique colors and it's disappointing to see those minimized on the helmet with white used as the primary color.

14. Boston College Eagles

Boston College's helmet is a pale gold with no logos. In short, there is nothing wrong with it but other schools in the ACC do a gold helmet much, much better.
