1. Chris Jones - DT (Chiefs)
You can continue to see the impact that Chris Jones has had on the Kansas City Chiefs defense in the postseason. It's no secret that Jones is looking to get paid, and this feels like the offseason to do it for him. It's hard to see the Chiefs making the cash work on another franchise tag, meaning don't be surprised if he has a new home. Look for a team with a lot of cap space and with a need for defense.
Prediction
Tennessee Titans
5. Justin Madubuike - DT (Ravens)
There's a lot to like about Justin Madubuike after the season he just put together with the Baltimore Ravens. The 2020 third-round pick tallied a career-high 13 sacks last year, which puts him in line for a nice payday. He's pressuring quarterbacks at a high clip and is evidently on the upward swing in his career trajectory. Madubuike made himself a lot of money with the 2023 season he registered.
Prediction
New England Patriots
4. Tee Higgins - WR (Bengals)
There are multiple wide receivers on the market, but the upside for Tee Higgins is too high to ignore. Although he's coming off a down season with injuries, Higgins will get paid this offseason, and there are multiple teams in need of a player with his skill set. Higgins has already tallied 900 or more receiving yards in three of his first four seasons in the NFL. Higgins could ultimately stay, but we'll see if the Bengals pony up the cash needed for him to sign off on that.
Prediction
Chicago Bears
3. Josh Allen - EDGE (Jaguars)
Josh Allen was selected in the top ten of the 2019 NFL draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. The former Kentucky Wildcat stormed into relevance in 2023 with a 17.5 sack campaign. That type of production is marketable in free agency no matter how you spin it, and Allen is now due for a severe raise on the open market. With production like that, Allen won't have any shortage of suitors.
Prediction
Houston Texans
2. Kirk Cousins - QB (Vikings)
The top quarterback available in free agency is Kirk Cousins. Cousins is coming off a season-ending injury with the Minnesota Vikings but was putting up big-time numbers prior to the injury. There's certainly a world where Cousins runs it back with the Vikings. They'll have to move some money around to make it work, but if Cousins goes elsewhere, you have to figure the Atlanta Falcons would be high on his radar.
