1. Kellen Moore - Philadelphia Eagles
After firing underachieving offensive coordinator Brian Johnson, the Philadelphia Eagles made a major upgrade to their coaching staff by adding Kellen Moore as their offensive coordinator. Moore didn't have a successful stint with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2023, but our money's on him bouncing back in a major way with the Eagles. Moore is one of the more creative offensive minds in the NFL, and it's hard to see him not fitting in seamlessly with the talent Philadelphia boasts on offense. Expect a big bounce back from the Eagles' offense in 2024.
5. Arthur Smith - Pittsburgh Steelers
Although it wasn't the most popular hire in Pittsburgh, Arthur Smith brings a lot of the qualities that a Mike Tomlin-coached team is looking for. The Steelers want to get back to bullying teams in the trenches and playing power football, which Smith should help them do. Personnel is important, but having someone who can orchestrate a run-first offense with some creativity involved, like Smith, should help bolster the Steelers' offense in 2024-25.
4. Alex Van Pelt - New England Patriots
This was an under-the-radar solid hire to me. Alex Van Pelt found more success in Cleveland than he was given credit for. Van Pelt was hired by the New England Patriots, another team that's no stranger to running the football. Van Pelt helped create one of the more effective rushing schemes in Cleveland, and that should help elevate New England's ground game moving forward.
3. Klint Kubiak - New Orleans Saints
Despite not being able to finish the job in the Super Bowl for a third time, coaches who learn under Kyle Shanahan typically go on to find success when given a bigger role. Klint Kubiak has been around the NFL since 2013 and is an innovative offensive mind. The New Orleans Saints need to get more out of their offense with the talent they have on that side of the ball, and we're betting big on Kubiak being able to do that.
2. Zac Robinson - Atlanta Falcons
Zac Robinson has been a young coach we've been watching carefully. Robinson is 37 and has five years of experience under his belt in the NFL. He's coming off a two-year stint with the Los Angeles Rams as their passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Robinson has been a trendy name in NFL circles, and he was hired in one of the more desirable roles this offseason as the Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator. With the young talent Atlanta has on offense, Robinson should help them grow and be a more productive unit.
