Jalen Williams 15+ Points
Jalen Williams has had 15+ points in seven of eleven games with his four misses being 11, 13, and two 14-point outings. He already put up 18 points against the Warriors two weeks ago so given his consistency, we’re confident he’ll be in the ballpark of our necessary 15-point threshold. You can drop his alternate point total to 12.5 for more assurance, but I’ve been riding Williams all year so I won’t back down now.
Bam Adebayo 20+ Points & 10+ Rebounds
No one has really talked about Bam Adebayo at all this season, but he has taken the leap many have been calling for in recent seasons, cementing himself as the second-best center in the East. He’s had at least 20 points and 10 rebounds in five of his last six games, including against the Brooklyn Nets who he and the Heat face tonight. It’s been clear this season that the Heat go as Bam goes, so expect him to shoulder the load again tonight.
Cameron Johnson 2+ Threes
Cameron Johnson has had 2+ threes in three straight games, averaging eight attempts per game from beyond the arc over that stretch. That’s enough for me to expect two threes from Johnson tonight.
Duncan Robinson 3+ Threes
The Heat have no depth, effectively forcing Duncan Robinson to play serious minutes after he was benched most of last season. Robinson is now a starter for the Heat, and in the five games where he has played at least 30 minutes, he has averaged eight attempts per game. Looking at Brooklyn’s defense, they’ve allowed the most made threes to opposing small forwards in the league, so we could conceivably see Robinson chucking up ten balls from deep, putting us in a great position for him to knock down three.
NBA: Oklahoma City Thunder at Sacramento Kings
Every time I talk about Shai Gilgeous-Alexander I feel obligated to mention how incredible of a basketball player he is because of how little recognition he gets. Gilgeous-Alexander is without a doubt a top-ten player in the sport, doing it all for this young Thunder team. Instead of eyeing up his points, we’ll stick with his rebounds and assists for two of our legs as he’s had at least four rebounds and four assists in all ten games he’s appeared in this season.
Klay Thompson 20+ Points
Steph Curry is out, and since the start of the 2021-22 season, Klay Thompson has averaged 25.5 points per game in the 30 games he’s played without Curry. This season he’s had at least 14 points in every game he’s played in where he hasn’t been ejected in the first quarter. Are you telling me there aren’t six more points out there for Klay to reach 20 without Curry on the floor? I bet not.
