NBA Finals Betting: Pacers vs. Thunder Game 5 Same Game Parlay

Leg 1: Pacers +215

Let’s get the big bet out of the way first. The Pacers have been one of the few teams that have been capable of slowing down the Thunder’s offense. OKC isn’t as bad as they showed in Game 6, but we still can’t overlook the value on the Indiana moneyline play.

Despite losing two of the last three, the Pacers have played a shutdown brand of defense. They’ve held the Western Conference champs to a 43.9% shooting percentage, below their season-long average of 47.6%. More impressively, the Thunder have been held to just 32.1% from distance over that stretch.

The key for Indiana in the NBA Finals has been fast-break and second-chance points. In their three wins, the Pacers are outscoring the Thunder 50-31 in fast-break points and 38-25 on second-chance opportunities.

The betting market has the Thunder out in front, but the Pacers have the blueprint for victory. We expect them to wield their defensive advantages and opportunistic offense to take home the Larry O’Brien Trophy on Sunday.

Leg 2: Pascal Siakam Over 31.5 Points, Rebounds, and Assists

Quietly, Pascal Siakam has asserted himself as a catalyst for the Pacers. A victory doesn’t ride solely on his shoulders. Still, he needs to be at his best in this monumental Game 7.

The Pacers’ big man has been dominant on both ends of the floor. Siakam has 20 or more points in three of his last four games and has averaged 8.3 rebounds per game across that sample. Further, he’s rounding out his play with slick dishes, averaging 4.3 assists over the last four games.

Siakam has been almost unstoppable on the defensive glass and has a refined scoring touch on the other end of the court. If he maintains his averages, he should have no problem eclipsing his points+rebounds+assists prop. However, if he takes over like he has in previous contests, there could be a substantive edge in getting this prop at a more exotic number.

We’re taking the conservative approach, but don’t be surprised if he blows past this number. Over 31.5 points+rebounds+assists is the play.

Leg 3: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to Record 35+ Points

It’s no secret that the Thunder’s offense runs through Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. While he was held in check on Thursday night, the NBA MVP is poised for a breakout when his team needs him most.

Last time out, SGA was held to a paltry 21 points on 7-for-15 (46.7%) shooting. His workload was diminished, as he was taken out with the rest of the starters earlier than expected. Nevertheless, his efficiency and volume point toward a sharp increase in Game 7.

Gilegous-Alexander has recorded 31 or more points in six of his last seven games. Across the entirety of that sample, he’s averaging 23.3 field goal attempts per game, not including the 9.5 free throw attempts. Moreover, his 46.3% shooting percentage over his last four represents a five-point drop from his season-long average of 51.9%.

In reconciling those benchmarks, it’s clear that SGA is primed for a vastly improved effort on Sunday night. It may not be enough to lead the Thunder to victory, but we’re betting Shai Gilgeous-Alexander drops at least 35 on the Pacers.

NBA Finals Betting: Pacers vs Thunder Game 7 Same Game Parlay

  • Pacers Moneyline +220
  • Pascal Siakam Over 31.5 Points+Rebounds+Assists
  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to Record 35+ Points

There will be no shortage of drama or intrigue in this deciding Game 7. Still, we’re counting on a Pacers win, Pascal Siakam to go over 31.5 points+rebounds+assists, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to record at least 35 points. If all three picks hit, bettors are walking away with a cool +929.
