5. Penn State (-6.5) at Wisconsin - Saturday at 7:30
The Penn State Nittany Lions survived an overtime contest with USC and remain unbeaten, but who have the Nittany Lions beaten thus far to make them a College Football Playoff lock? West Virginia is now just 3-4, so that win does not look impressive. USC just lost to Maryland and is 1-4 in the Big Ten. The most impressive win, by far, would be the 21-7 win at home over Illinois. Penn State has Ohio State on November 2, but they can’t look ahead because they first play in Madison against the red-hot Wisconsin Badgers. Wisconsin has given up a total of 16 points in their past three games, and they have had three straight blowout victories.

Boise State (-3.5) at UNLV - Friday at 10:30 pm
The Boise State Broncos travel to Vegas on Friday night to take on the UNLV Rebels. These are the top two squads in the Mountain West, and they could meet for a second time in the Mountain West Conference Championship Game. Boise State’s star running back Ashton Jeanty is the headliner, and another considerable game will push his status as the favorite further forward. UNLV is also capable on offense, putting up 59 points against Fresno State, 41 in a heartbreaking loss to Syracuse, 50 at Utah State, and 33 in a win over Oregon State. UNLV has been decent against the run, giving up just 3.35 yards per rush this season, and the crowd should be fired up for this opportunity.
Week 9: Boise State (-3.5) at UNLV
2. BYU (-1.5) at UCF - Saturday at 3:30
UCF has been a disappointing mess this season, but they may have found themselves last weekend as Jacurri Brown stepped in at quarterback, and the Knights turned up the rushing attack to the tune of more than 350 on the ground against Iowa State. Now, the Knights return home and get a chance to knock off the unbeaten BYU Cougars as slight underdogs. UCF is a tough place to play, and the Bounce House should be rocking with a top-15 team in town. BYU needed a late touchdown to survive a scare against Oklahoma State, and UCF has the tools to cause problems for BYU’s defense.
3. LSU at Texas A&M (-2.5) - Saturday at 7:30
The Texas A&M Aggies host the LSU Tigers in a massive clash with SEC Championship Game and College Football Playoff implications. The Aggies have won six in a row since losing in the season opener against Notre Dame, but if you peak closer at their opponents, there are reasons to think they are vulnerable. The Aggies have a 13-point win over Florida, a six-point victory over Bowling Green, a four-point win over the Arkansas team that LSU just blew out in Fayetteville, a convincing win over an overrated Missouri team, and a ten-point victory over Mississippi State. The Aggies have improved but should not be viewed as a juggernaut yet. LSU arguably has a better quarterback, a better group of pass-catchers, a better offensive line, and a vastly improving defense.
4. Michigan State at Michigan (-5.5) - Saturday at 7:30
The Michigan State Spartans and Michigan Wolverines play this Saturday night in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines are favored again despite failing to show a single shred of evidence that they are a team that can be trusted. Michigan still does not have a quarterback they can rely on, and its receivers struggle to get open or create anything downfield. UM has a potentially powerful running game, but the defense knows exactly what is coming. Unless the Wolverines can start producing a passing game worth respecting, they will struggle to beat anyone. Michigan State has an offense that can move the ball, and if they don’t turn it over, they should have every opportunity to win this game outright in Michigan Stadium.
