College Football Week 11 Predictions | Saturday Picks Today, Best Bets

We are wandering perilously close to the end of the college football season. Still, we have several weeks of action to satiate us until we head into bowl season and the College Football Playoff. The silver lining is that the intensity will ramp up as we get closer to crowning a champion in the extended CFP format. But before we get there, we’re still breaking down our favorite plays every Saturday.

Navy Midshipmen vs South Florida Bulls

Spread: Navy -3.5 (+100) | South Florida +3.5 (-122)
Moneyline: Navy -152 | South Florida +126
Total: OVER 56.5 (-110) | UNDER 56.5 (-110)

Starting with some Group of Five love, the South Florida Bulls host the Navy Midshipmen at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. The Bulls are beginning to find their rhythm, which should help them keep things close against the reeling Midshipmen.

Two weeks ago, Navy was undefeated and appeared to be heading to the AAC Championship Game. A pair of losses later, they look destined for an early bowl game. The Midshipmen’s offensive well has seemingly run dry. They’ve mustered just 570 yards and 24 points across their past two games, putting them at a sincere disadvantage against an improving Bulls’ rush defense.

Over the previous three contests, South Florida has held its opponents to an average of 139.0 rushing yards per game and just 4.0 yards per carry. At the same time, they’ve amplified their offensive production. The Bulls are up to 379.3 yards per game and are coming off a season-best 525-yard performance at home. That effort is starting to pay off, with USF tallying 79 points over their last two games.

Momentum is carrying these teams in different directions. South Florida is trending upwards, with improved play on both sides of the ball. Conversely, the Midshipmen have been lost at sea, unable to replicate their early-season success. The betting line implies as much, but we still see a significant edge on the hosts.

Recommended Play: South Florida +3.5 -122

2024 Group of 5 Power Rankings | Week 11 of College Football Season

Iowa State Cyclones vs Kansas Jayhawks

Spread: Iowa State -2.5 (-112) | Kansas +2.5 (-108)
Moneyline: Iowa State -126 | Kansas +106
Total: OVER 51.5 (-110) | UNDER 51.5 (-110)

Thankfully, Kansas Jayhawks fans can now direct their attention to the college basketball season. The Jayhawks have been abysmal this season, unable to build off the success of last year’s team. Unfortunately, that downward trajectory carries them into a Big 12 clash versus the 17th-ranked Iowa State Cyclones.

A close call against the Kansas State Wildcats in Week 10 did little to restore confidence in the Jayhawks. Kansas continues to trot out a bottom-tier defense, giving up 27.7 points per game. More concerningly, they’ve been at their worst in conference play. The Jayhawks have given up at least 29 points in four of five Big 12 games, with three of those teams eclipsing 32.

Iowa State’s bid for a perfect season came to a crashing halt last week, but the Cyclones are poised for a bounce back at Arrowhead Stadium. They have a relentless offensive attack that produces an average of 31.9 points and 448.9 yards per game, both of which rank in the top 30 in the country.

This line could get steamed as we approach kick-off, so we recommend getting this before it crosses a couple of crucial barriers. Iowa State will use its elite passing game to escape Kansas with a win of at least three points.

Recommended Play: Iowa State -2.5 -112

Colorado Buffaloes vs Texas Tech Red Raiders

Spread: Colorado -4.5 (-105) | Texas Tech +4.5 (-115)
Moneyline: Colorado -172 | Texas Tech +142
Total: OVER 62.5 (-115) | UNDER 62.5 (-105)

We hope you like high-scoring football because this Big 12 clash could get out of hand. Two of the top aerial assaults in the country stand toe-to-toe on Saturday, with the Colorado Buffaloes invading the Lone Star State for a date with the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Neither defense possesses the ability to contain their opponent, which should yield more than 62.5 points.

Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter have the Buffaloes moving effortlessly downfield. Colorado is up to 390.3 yards per game against FBS opponents this year, with 306.6 coming via the passing game. Likewise, Texas Tech has exceeded 438 total yards in three of its past five, turning to Tahj Brooks to keep the chains moving.

However, both teams have substantive defensive shortcomings. The Red Raiders allow the tenth-most passing yards, getting torched for 282.4 per game. Colorado’s most prominent weakness comes on the ground, with opponents averaging 155.0 rushing yards per game. That benchmark is rising, with three of their past four opponents exceeding 171 rushing yards.

Both teams can wield their offensive advantages against sub-par defenses. As a result, this game should feature a plethora of scoring and eclipse the total.

Recommended Play: Over 54.5 -112

BYU Cougars vs Utah Utes

Spread: BYU -2.5 (-120) | Utah +2.5 (-102)
Moneyline: BYU -140 | Utah +116
Total: OVER 40.5 (-105) | UNDER 40.5 (-115)

The next installment of The Holy War takes place in Week 11. The undefeated BYU Cougars will try to escape Salt Lake City with the win as -2.5 chalk, but the Utah Utes will be looking to de-rail the Cougars’ perfect run.

While their offense has sputtered, the Utes remain a defensive juggernaut. Utah allows 325.4 yards per game, equalling just 18.4 points. That strength has been on full display more recently. Over their last two games, the Utes have held the Houston Cougars and TCU Horned Frogs to 30 points and 364 yards.

BYU has looked beatable lately. The Big 12 leaders gave up 35 points and 421 yards to the Oklahoma State Cowboys a few weeks ago, following that up with another 379 yards and 24 points allowed in Week 9. Moreover, Utah is primed for a scoring surge, as its output doesn’t match their production over the past couple of games. That boost should come against a weak Cougars’ defense.

Utah may have abandoned its hope of making the CFP this season, but that won’t stop the Utes from being at their best in this classic rivalry game. With the Rice-Eccles faithful at their backs, we expect the Utes to cover the spread, if not pull off the outright upset.

Recommended Play: Utah +2.5 -102
