Ole Miss Could be in Danger Zone
Ole Miss enters next week at No. 12 in the AP Top 25 after dropping to 4-1. The Rebels travel on the road to Williams Brice to play a Gamecock team that has impressed this season. With South Carolina’s dominant pass rush and underrated offense, Ole Miss could have difficulty getting past Shane Beamer’s well-coached team. If the Rebels fall to 4-2, their hopes of a College Football Playoff appearance could fade.

Fallout from Ole Miss’s Upset Loss to Kentucky
After a 20-17 loss against the Kentucky Wildcats, Ole Miss fell in the AP Top 25 rankings while Kentucky showed how dangerous they can be. Here are five takeaways from the Wildcats' upset win over the Rebels.
Ole Miss Offensive Line Concerns
Throughout the game, the Kentucky defensive line seemed to have its way. The Wildcats sacked Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart four times, and in the pressures that they didn’t bring him down, they managed to disrupt the Rebels offense. A huge point of emphasis for Ole Miss to fix ahead of next week’s matchup against South Carolina’s dominant pass rush.
Dane Key emerging for Kentucky
Dane Key shined in Kentucky’s win over Ole Miss on Saturday. The junior reeled in eight receptions for 105 yards and a touchdown. Last week, Key posted a 145-yard receiving day against Ohio. With back-to-back standout performances, including one over a highly-ranked Ole Miss team, the Wildcats may have found their new go-to weapon.
Rebels Shied Away from Rushing Attack
The Rebels found success in their rushing attack throughout this game but never relied on their backfield to open up the passing game. Henry Parrish Jr. finished the game with 13 carries for 62 yards averaging 4.8 yards per carry. With Parrish gaining nearly five yards per carry, the shifty back could have put Ole Miss’s offense in a better position in both the game plan and on the field.
Mark Stoops Outcoached Lane Kiffin
One of the most significant matchup battles heading into this game was between Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops. In what many expected to be a Rebels blowout, the Wildcats seemingly controlled this matchup. Stoops’ squad dominated the time of possession (UK: 39:43 to Ole Miss 20:17), allowing the Wildcats to pull out the win. Between the game plan, controlling the game script, and decision-making, it seems Kentucky’s coach won more than just the game.
