NFL Preseason Week 2: Best Betting Picks & Predictions

Grant White

Host · Writer

We are just weeks away from the start of the 2025 NFL season. Between now and September 4, teams will be gearing up and making roster adjustments in preparation for the beginning of the season. That leaves bettors with ample betting opportunities, as we dig into three weeks of preseason action.

These are our favorite betting picks for Preseason Week 1 action on Friday night!

Where to Watch Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Ballpark: Acrisure Stadium
  • Location: Pittsburgh, PA
  • Where to Watch: KDKA-TV, WFLA-TV
  • Time: 7:00 p.m. ET
  • Spread: TB -3.5 | Total: 39.5
  • Moneyline: TB -172 | PIT +144

The Pittsburgh Steelers flashed their full arsenal in the preseason opener, a trend that should persist into this weekend’s clash versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The betting market may be short on the total, but we are not.

Pittsburgh had no issues moving the ball last week. They put up 367 yards of total offense, with most of that production coming via the passing game. With Skylar Thompson and Mason Rudolph likely shouldering the burden again, the Steelers are poised to continue their aerial assault.

Similarly, the Bucs’ backups had no issues churning out yards in Week 1 preseason action. Kyle Trask held the keys to the offense for most of the game, contributing nearly 350 total yards versus the Titans.

These teams enjoyed fruitful starts to the preseason, and that should continue in Saturday’s clash at Acrisure Stadium. We’re taking a firm stance on the over in this preseason tilt.

Best Bet: Over 39.5

Where to Watch Green Bay Packers vs. Indianapolis Colts

  • Ballpark: Lucas Oil Stadium
  • Location: Indianapolis, IN
  • Where to Watch: NBC 26 (WBGA-TV), Today’s TMJ4 (WTMJ-TV)
  • Time: 1:00 p.m. ET
  • Spread: IND -6 | Total: 39.5
  • Moneyline: IND -255 | GB +210

The Green Bay Packers got off to a rough start in the preseason, suffering a humbling loss to the Jets last week. The Indianapolis Colts didn’t fare any better, losing to the Ravens’ secondary contributors. Our analysis supports the notion that the Colts’ issues are likely to persist for another week.

In his first action as a Colt, Daniel Jones was up to his usual antics. The wretched quarterback went 10-for-21, without a touchdown and an interception, while also getting sacked. Don’t expect a better performance on Saturday.

Green Bay gave Malik Willis just a handful of snaps, splitting time between four quarterbacks. Their leash may be a little shorter in Week 2 preseason action, with Willis taking on a more prominent role versus the Colts. If that happens, we expect the dual-threat to mobilize and maximize his efficiency in the passing game.

At one point last season, Jones and Willis were starting quarterbacks. While they appear destined for backup roles in 2025, both will want to flaunt their skills to solidify their position on the depth chart. Jones continues to prove that he lacks the skill set to excel, even in preseason action, which precipitates a play on the Packers’ moneyline.

Best Bet: Packers +210

Where to Watch New York Jets vs. New York Giants

  • Ballpark: MetLife Stadium
  • Location: East Rutherford, NJ
  • Where to Watch: NBC 4 New York, NFL Network
  • Time: 7:00 p.m. ET
  • Spread: NYG -3.5 | Total: 39.5
  • Moneyline: NYG -190 | NYJ +160

The NFL’s New York-based teams will be staying close to home this weekend, battling it out at MetLife Stadium. Both teams put up crooked numbers last week, but we’re betting the Jets fly higher on Saturday.

The Football Giants rolled through all four of their quarterbacks last week, but it was Jaxson Dart who commanded the lion’s share of the snaps. The rookie pivot went 12-for-19 for 154 yards and a touchdown. Still, he will be hard-pressed to replicate that success versus a stout Jets’ defense.

The Mean Green lived up to their reputation last week, holding the Packers to a combined 188 yards of total offense. Included in that were just 64 passing yards and a cumulative 45.5% completion percentage. At the same time, the Jets’ offense delivered superb results, churning out 30 points on over 400 yards of total offense.

Dart’s foray into the professional game went about as well as it could have; however, the Jets present a more sincere challenge. We’re getting a piece of the underdogs, expecting them to deliver another stout defensive performance.

Best Bet: Jets +160

NFL Preseason Week 2: Best Betting Picks

  • TB-Pit Over 39.5
  • Packers +210
  • Jets +160

We expect the high-scoring trend to continue this weekend, with the Bucs and Steelers going north of 39.5. Moreover, we’re targeting a pair of underdogs, backing the Packers and Jets on the moneyline.
