This week’s Thursday Night matchup is a battle of the two oldest starting quarterbacks in the NFL. At a combined 81 years old, Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers travel to Cincinnati to take on Joe Flacco and the Bengals. Both teams possess numerous offensive weapons, creating opportunities for several prop betting options. Here are five to keep in mind while preparing for this matchup.
Jaylen Warren OVER 69.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards
Jaylen Warren has taken command as the lead running back in this Steelers offense. Despite missing time due to injury, Warren reassumed his role this past week as the top option. He has become a reliable safety net in the passing game on third-and-mediums or when the pocket collapses. Expect Warren to continue to be utilized both on the ground and through the air.
Tee Higgins OVER 4.5 Receptions
The addition of Joe Flacco into the lineup has, at the very least, provided the duo of Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins more opportunities to see the football. Higgins should see plenty of targets with Green Bay’s struggles against bigger receivers and tight ends.
DK Metcalf Anytime Touchdown Scorer
DK Metcalf has developed into a reliable red-zone target for Aaron Rodgers and Pittsburgh’s offense. Metcalf has found the end zone in four straight contests, and his matchup against the Bengals’ weak secondary should give him a golden chance to extend that streak to five.
Joe Flacco OVER 238.5 Passing Yards
Joe Flacco has opened up the playbook for the Bengals, which was previously limited to a minimal set of play calls when Jake Browning was under center. If the Bengals are to have a chance in this game, Flacco will have to lead the way through the air, finding his two guys in Chase and Higgins. Flacco could very easily hit this number in back-door fashion late in the fourth quarter.
Darnell Washington OVER 2.5 Receptions
Perhaps the most underrated matchup nightmare for any opposing defense is having to guard Steelers’ tight end Darnell Washington. At 6’7 and 265 pounds, Washington is essentially impossible to game plan against. With five receptions last week and three the game prior, Washington’s involvement in the offense is increasing, and there is no reason to believe Aaron Rodgers will not continue to take advantage of the mismatch he possesses.
