The Pittsburgh Steelers picked up a Week 1 victory vs Atlanta on the back of an impressive defensive performance. Their offense made plays when needed, and the defense kept the game in check. The Broncos didn’t leave much to be excited about in their Week 1 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The Steelers have notoriously dominated rookie quarterbacks under head coach Mike Tomlin, which isn’t good news for Bo Nix. The Broncos’ rookie quarterback still has plenty to learn in the NFL, and he won’t be very productive against one of the NFL’s top pass rushes. The Steelers should be able to run the football efficiently in this matchup against a poor defensive front in Denver. That’s precisely how Arthur Smith and Co. like it. Take the Steelers to cover the number and move to 2-0.
Steelers vs Broncos Best Bet Total: UNDER 38.5 (-110)
Even if we saw projected Steelers’ quarterback Justin Fields have a monster game against Denver last year, we’re projecting a more run-heavy and stable game environment this time. The Steelers don’t need Fields to be a hero; they need him to play efficiently and not turn the football over. That shouldn’t be a significant ask against a Broncos defense that doesn’t pose many threats. Still, with how the Steelers run the football, it won’t be surprising to see multiple long drives and a milk-the-clock approach. We’re not sold on Denver’s offense moving the football against Pittsburgh’s defense, and the Steelers should be able to run the football at ease here. That’s a recipe for an under if I’ve ever seen one.

It’s no secret that Najee Harris is the goal-line running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Even if we see Jaylen Warren getting more involved moving forward, Harris will be the guy in those short-yardage situations. The Steelers couldn’t score a touchdown in Week 1 against Atlanta, and it’s hard to see that transpiring in back-to-back weeks, especially against a poor Denver defense. The Steelers should find themselves in the red zone at multiple points in this contest, and our money’s on Harris to cash in one of those attempts.
