The Stanley Cup Final always lives up to the hype. That is the case again this year as the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers continue to battle it out for hockey supremacy. Game 5 was the best performance of the playoffs for the Panthers. Now, they can clinch their second straight Stanley Cup on home ice on Tuesday night.
We’re targeting these bets in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final!

Leg 1: EDM-FLA Under 6.5 -110
Goals have been flowing naturally in this series, with all five Stanley Cup Final games going over the total. Nevertheless, we are taking a firm stance against that happening in Game 6.
The underlying metrics point toward an inevitable collapse in scoring. Last time out, the Panthers held Edmonton to a laughable three high-danger chances. Worse, that was the second time in three contests in which they were held to that unflattering total. The Oilers’ output matches their lackluster production, recording just one goal at five-on-five across those outings.
At the same time, Florida is operating outside of its normal range in terms of scoring. Despite attempting nine or fewer high-danger chances in two of three, the defending champs have eight five-on-five goals across the three-game sample. In doing so, they have elevated their scoring beyond sustainable metrics, implying regression is forthcoming.
The Panthers will continue to employ an impenetrable defensive structure, particularly on home ice. As a result, we see little chance this game will go over the total.

Leg 2: Brad Marchand Over 0.5 Points -111
Depth scoring has been the Panthers’ biggest advantage in the postseason. While they have more notable threats, no one has been able to match Brad Marchand‘s scoring in the Stanley Cup Final.
Undoubtedly, Marchand has been the difference in this series. The veteran forward has six goals in five games, tickling the twine in all but one contest. His timely scoring has been noticed; however, his analytics profile points toward continued success.
So far this postseason, Marchand is averaging a robust 8.8 scoring and 4.0 high-danger chances per game. While the Panthers’ other forwards have been preoccupied with matching against the Oilers’ best players, Marchand has been free to attack Edmonton’s bottom six.
Marchand is a deserving frontrunner in the Conn Smythe race, and we expect him to further his cause in Game 6. There may be value in backing him as an any time goal scorer, but we’re betting on him going north of his modest point prop.
Leg 3: Seth Jones Any Time Goal Scorer +700
The Panthers’ forwards have been sensational in the playoffs, but let’s put some respect on their defensive contributions. Like Marchand, Seth Jones has been an invaluable Trade Deadline acquisition. He is due for some puck luck in finding the back of the net.
Jones dominates the Panthers’ analytics categories. He leads the team in scoring and high-danger chances, contributing to a team-best 30.8 expected goals-for total. While his on-ice scoring exceeds that total, Jones’ point value falls below expected.
Despite recording nine shots on goal, the Panthers’ rearguard has just one goal and one assist in the Stanley Cup Final. That puts Jones below expected output, pointing toward inevitable progression.
We are betting on another standout performance from Jones in a pivotal Game 6 versus the Oilers. Conservative bettors may prefer taking the over on his points prop, but we can’t look past the tantalizing +700 price tag in backing him as an any time goal scorer.
