Mets vs Yankees: Best Player Prop Bets for Subway Series

Paul Connor

Host · Writer

One of baseball’s most storied rivalries reignites tonight as the New York Yankees (25-18) host the New York Mets (28-16) in the latest installment of the Subway Series.

Adding another layer to the historic clash is the return of Mets superstar Juan Soto to Yankee Stadium. Soto was spectacular for the Bronx Bombers last season, smashing a career-high 41 home runs in what turned out to be his lone year in Pinstripes. The 26-year-old wound up bolting for the Mets in the offseason, signing a record 15-year, $765 million contract, much to the dismay of Yankee fans.

With the stage set, here are my top player prop bets for Game 1 of this three-game set.

NYM SS Francisco Lindor to Hit a Home Run (+310)

  • Lindor is tied for the team lead with nine home runs, slashing .297/.364/.491 on the year.
  • He has had great success against Yankees left-handed starter Carlos Rodon (4-3, 3.29 ERA), going 10-for-35 (.286) with two home runs in his lifetime.
  • Rodon has allowed eight home runs across 54.2 IP (1.32 HR/9) this season, including two in his last outing against the Athletics.
  • Since 2023, Lindor is slugging .541 with 28 home runs against left-handed pitching (415 PA).

NYY 1B Paul Goldschmidt to Record an RBI (+160)

  • Goldschmidt was a pleasant surprise at the beginning of the season, hitting .346 with 22 RBI in 43 games.
  • He has driven in at least one run in three of his past four games.
  • Mets starter Tylor Megill (3-3, 3.10 ERA) has struggled lately, posting a 6.46 ERA across his last three starts.
  • Megill is allowing a .274 batting average to RHB compared to .155 against LHB.
  • Routinely batting cleanup, Goldschmidt will continue to have plenty of RBI opportunities.
