Ranking the 8 Quarterfinal Teams Chance to Win the NBA Cup

1. Milwaukee Bucks (+450)
From a disastrous start to the season to now, the Milwaukee Bucks made a complete turnaround. They’ve won eight of their last ten games and have the benefit of facing the weakest team in the field, the Orlando Magic, with a trip to Vegas on the line. I expect them to get by the Magic easily and favor their experience and recent play over the Knicks in the semifinals before an NBA Cup Championship game where anything can happen.

8. Orlando Magic (+2400)
The Orlando Magic deserve a ton of respect for what they’ve accomplished thus far this season, but without Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner in the NBA Cup, they don’t have enough to string together three straight wins. Jalen Suggs and Co. won’t go down without a fight, but the Milwaukee Bucks have been playing well for the past few weeks and have too much experience from their NBA Cup run last season not to lose in the quarterfinals.
7. Golden State Warriors (+850)
After a hot start to the season, the Golden State Warriors have faded since, and they now have a difficult path to the NBA Cup Championship with an expected path of the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder. Given their three-point shooting, it’s tough to write them off completely, but I can’t see them winning three straight games because of how they’ve been playing lately.
6. Atlanta Hawks (+2300)
The Atlanta Hawks may be one of the most underrated teams in the Eastern Conference all season, and they’ve continually played up to their competition as they’ve defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers twice and the Boston Celtics once. They're also winners of six of their last seven games, so the New York Knicks should not overlook this squad in the quarterfinals. We all know what Trae Young can do in Madison Square Garden.
5. Houston Rockets (+700)
The Houston Rockets can win this whole thing, but they are the most inexperienced team in a field of four brutal Western Conference squads. I expect them to get past the Golden State Warriors in the quarterfinals. Still, I struggle to see them defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder or the Dallas Mavericks in Vegas.
4. Dallas Mavericks (+750)
The Dallas Mavericks have strung together seven straight wins heading into their Tuesday night bout with the Oklahoma City Thunder, where I expect their NBA Cup run to end. Unfortunately, the two best teams in the NBA Cup bracket have to square off in the quarterfinals immediately, but this will be a must-see game for all fans.
3. New York Knicks (+310)
The New York Knicks are viewed as the favorite on the East side of the bracket, but I struggle to believe they are a shoo-in to advance. The Atlanta Hawks are no joke, and should they not overlook the Hawks and advance to Vegas, the Milwaukee Bucks have been great basketball of late and have the experience on their side by playing in Vegas last season. The Knicks have plenty of talent and are a worthwhile bet to win the tournament, but I favor the Bucks in a potential semifinal matchup.
2. Oklahoma City Thunder (+280)
I view the Oklahoma City Thunder as the best team in the NBA Cup bracket, but they’ll face the second-best team immediately, the Dallas Mavericks. On that alone, I can’t make the Thunder the most likely team to clinch the NBA Cup, but should the Thunder get by the Mavs as I expect, they will have a clear path to winning the whole thing.
