Indiana Pacers @ New York Knicks Game 2 Analysis & +1300 SGP

We have a single playoff game tonight in the NBA as the Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks are set for Game 2 in Madison Square Garden. The Knicks took Game 1 by mounting a fourth-quarter comeback. Still, the rhetoric in much of the NBA community outside of New York has been that the referees essentially didn’t give the Pacers a chance to win with how the game was officiated. After many questions arose about a similar issue in the Knicks-76ers series, the debates swirled about whether the Pacers would have a chance to win this series. Regardless, the Knicks are up 1-0 after another dominant showing from Jalen Brunson. We’re on to what should be another great game tonight. Let’s hope we leave the game thinking about the game, not about the whistle.

Pacers-Knicks +1300 SGP

Legs 1 & 2: Pascal Siakam 3+ Assists, 6+ Rebounds

The Pacers will need more out of Pascal Siakam tonight, especially considering how much Tyrese Haliburton struggled in Game 1. We’ll look for his production to continue in terms of being a passer and a rebounder, at least. He had five assists in Game 1 and averaged 4.2 assists per game in the first round; we’ll trust that he can find a way to rack up three assists in a high-scoring game. Plus, he had just six rebounds in Game 1, which was a bit underwhelming, but he had nine rebound chances in that game and averaged 8.8 rebounds per game in the first-round series. It’s safe to say that six rebounds should be his floor.

Leg 3: Myles Turner 15+ Points

Myles Turner did his job as a scorer in Game 1, dropping 23 points. In his two regular-season meetings with the Knicks, where he played at least 30 minutes, he had 23 and 28-point outings, so we expect him to keep up his pace for at least 15 points at a minimum.

Leg 4: Aaron Nesmith 10+ Points

Aaron Nesmith had 12 points in Game 1 and previously averaged 18.7 points across three regular-season meetings with the Knicks this year. I’m looking for him to call his shot even more tonight, so expecting to get us double-digit points should be guaranteed.

Leg 5: Aaron Nembhard 3+ Assists

Andrew Nembhard has had at least three assists in every playoff game this postseason and all three regular-season meetings with the Knicks. It seems simple enough to me.

Legs 6 & 7: Josh Hart 1+ Three, 5+ Assists

The way Josh Hart has been shooting the ball from deep, he will knock down at least a single shot from beyond the arc. It is on his home floor. We’ll also count on him getting us five assists, as he had eight assists in Game 1. Hart’s been balling out and will be on the court all 48 minutes, so we trust he can hit his marks.

Leg 8: OG Anunoby 13+ Points

First, touting OG Anunoby to get us at least 13 points is a somewhat odd tout. You’ll be thanking me later when he lands precisely on the 13-point mark, as in Game 1. Towards the end of the first-round series, Anunoby asserted himself as a scorer, frequently calling his shot from deep and mid-range. He ended up going 5/14 from the field in Game 1 en route to his 13-point outing, so we’re due for a bit of positive regression; we view the 13-point mark as his floor tonight.

Leg 9: Donte DiVincenzo 3+ Threes

After his minutes fluctuated a ton in the first round, Donte DiVincenzo played 44 minutes in Game 1. I don’t expect that to change much, so assuming we’re getting another 40+ minute outing, there is no way he won’t launch enough shots from beyond the arc to get us at least three made threes. He went 5/9 from deep in Game 1; we’ll be just fine if two of those bricks out tonight.
